Early Warning Systems, the startup behind Zelle, is exploring issuing its own stablecoin for retail bank customers. The plan focuses on creating a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar for everyday payments. The Clearing House, owned by large banks, is also considering stablecoin initiatives. Stablecoins have gained Wall Street’s attention, with the total supply currently at $287 billion. JPMorgan analysts estimate the market could grow two to three times its size in the next few years. Goldman Sachs CEO mentioned interest in stablecoins but cautioned about the challenges in integrating them into mainstream finance.
