Apple has consistently exceeded Wall Street expectations for sales and earnings-per-share for the past 10 quarters, based on FactSet data. Out of the previous 20 quarters, Apple has only missed sales projections twice and EPS once. However, this trend does not always result in stock gains, with Apple shares only increasing seven times on the following day out of the past 20 quarters.
