Astellas Pharma Inc. released positive results from the Phase 3 GATHER2 study extension, showing that monthly IZERVAY treatment significantly reduces GA lesion growth in AMD patients for up to 3.5 years. The therapy is well tolerated, with no cases of retinal vasculitis reported. A real-world study based on 10,181 patients in the US found that IZERVAY had a favorable safety profile in routine clinical practice, with low rates of treatment discontinuation and infrequent adverse events. Astellas is working to make IZERVAY available to GA patients globally. Visit rttnews.com for more health news.
