Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a 12-hour outage, impacting major websites and apps globally due to DNS problems with its DynamoDB service. The disruption affected companies like Disney+, Reddit, and T-Mobile, as well as UK government websites and social platforms such as Snapchat and Fortnite. Internal systems, warehouse tools, and Seller Central were also affected. AWS confirmed increased error rates but stated that service operations were returning to normal. The outage, likely caused by a technical failure, highlighted the world’s reliance on major cloud providers like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. AMZN stock closed up 1.61% on Monday.
