Baker Hughes secures contract with Aramco to expand integrated underbalanced coiled tubing drilling operations in Saudi Arabia, growing fleet from four to ten units. The multi-year agreement aims to accelerate gas extraction from new and established fields with CoilTrak BHA system, operational management, and geosciences support. Operations set to start next year.

This expansion strengthens Baker Hughes’ presence in the region after nearly two decades of successful collaboration with Aramco. The company’s advanced solutions are expected to improve production efficiency, speed, and safety while reducing reservoir damage. The project has the potential to revolutionize oil and gas production globally, setting a new standard for UBCTD technology.

In addition to this project, Aramco recently awarded Baker Hughes a key equipment supply contract for the third phase of the MGS project in Saudi Arabia. The scope included the supply of 17 pipeline centrifugal compressors powered by aeroderivative gas turbines. This partnership further solidifies Baker Hughes’ position as a leading provider of oilfield services and equipment in the region.
