The DFS acquisition contributed to strong growth in the domestic card segment, increasing year-over-year purchase volume by 39%. Capital One also announced a new $16 billion share buyback plan and plans to raise its quarterly common stock dividend from $0.60 to $0.80 per share. COF shares have returned over 31% in the last six months as of October 21.
