Private equity firms Blackstone and TPG are set to acquire women’s health specialist Hologic for over $13 billion, offering $79 per share. The deal, including cash and additional payments, values Hologic at $18.3 billion. Hologic’s board has approved the deal, pending regulatory and shareholder approval, expected in early 2023.

Hologic shares rose after the announcement, with the price representing a 46% premium to late May’s closing price. The company, known for mammography systems and breast imaging technology, will retain its name and headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts after being delisted from the Nasdaq stock exchange. Stock price increased by nearly 4% to $74.62.
