Brookfield has closed its flagship energy transition fund, BGTF II, with a record $20 billion in commitments from investors worldwide, making it the largest private fund dedicated to clean energy. The fund also secured $3.5 billion in co-investment, totaling $23.5 billion. Investments include acquisitions in renewable power and battery storage, as well as a joint venture in India for wind, solar, and storage projects. Brookfield’s strategy focuses on investing in low carbon resources to meet growing energy demand. The previous fund, BGTF I, raised $15 billion and invested in various energy technologies globally. Brookfield has also secured energy supply deals with Microsoft and Google.
