Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (CHD) reported a return to profit in the third quarter, with a net income of $182.2 million compared to a loss of $75.1 million in the prior year. Earnings per share were $0.75, up from a loss of $0.31 per share a year ago. The company’s net sales increased to $1.59 billion from $1.51 billion in the comparable period. Despite beating earnings expectations, analysts had predicted higher revenue of $1.63 billion. Church & Dwight also provided full-year guidance for adjusted EPS growth of approximately $3.492. Shares were trading 4.40 percent higher in pre-market activity at $85.35 on the NYSE.
