Coca-Cola HBC AG has agreed to purchase a 75% stake in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Pty Ltd for $2.6 billion. The deal values Coca-Cola Beverages Africa at $3.4 billion. The acquisition will be funded through a new debt facility and also involves issuing Coca-Cola HBC shares to Gutsche Family. This move is expected to boost Coca-Cola HBC’s earnings per share by a low-single-digit percentage in the first year post-transaction. The CEO of Coca-Cola HBC, Zoran Bogdanovic, sees significant growth opportunities in Africa due to its large and expanding consumer base. Additionally, there is an option for Coca-Cola HBC to acquire the remaining 25% equity interest in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa from the Coca-Cola Company.
