Corn futures rose 3 to 4 cents on Thursday, with the national average Cash Corn price at $3.76 1/4. Harvest in the ECB may be slowed next week due to precipitation in NE, IA, and the Dakotas.

The harvest price for crop insurance will be based on the average December corn close in October, currently at $4.16 ½. Export sales data was not released due to the government shutdown, with expectations between 1.2 and 2.2 MMT sold.

StoneX reduced their estimate for US corn yield to 185.9 bpa, with production estimated at 16.737 bbu. Dec 25 Corn is at $4.20, Nearby Cash at $3.76 1/4, Mar 26 Corn at $4.36, and May 26 Corn at $4.46.
