Cypress Creek Renewables has reached financial close for the Sundance solar and energy storage project in Elbert County, Colorado, featuring 75MW of solar capacity and a 50MW/200MWh battery system. The project will power 25,000 homes through the CORE Electric Cooperative. Construction began in July 2025, creating 250 jobs and generating over $9.5m in property tax revenue over 40 years.
The project aligns with Colorado’s clean energy goals and Cypress Creek’s commitment to the state. A $300,000 community investment will be overseen by a local working group. The project received $190m in construction financing, with MUFG Bank as the coordinating lead arranger and Fifth Third Bank as the tax equity investor.
Commercial operations for the Sundance project are expected to start by late 2026. Cypress Creek CEO Sarah Slusser highlighted their dedication to Colorado and future investments in clean energy projects across the state.
