Despite positive earnings reports, the stock market retreated from record levels on Thursday. The Dow Jones fell 243 points (0.5%), the S&P 500 dropped 0.3%, and the Nasdaq was down 0.1%. Majority of S&P 500 stocks declined after hitting records, and gold pulled back after exceeding $4,000 an ounce.
