Operational highlights for Q3 2025 include a total copper production of 104,626 tonnes, with higher production from Sentinel and Kansanshi. Enterprise reported a 44% increase in nickel production, with higher throughput and recoveries.
First Quantum updates its 2025 guidance for copper, gold, and nickel production. Copper production guidance is narrowed to 390,000 – 410,000 tonnes, gold production to 140,000 – 150,000 ounces, and nickel production to 18,000 – 23,000 tonnes. Copper and gold production are expected to exceed third quarter levels in the fourth quarter.
The company expects to restart the power plant at Cobre Panama in Q4 2025 following the completion of maintenance refurbishment and preservation activities. The power plant is anticipated to restart with the first 150MW unit in November. Additionally, the environmental study for Cobre Panama is progressing, along with preservation strategies for asset safety and integrity.
First Quantum Minerals Ltd. entered into a gold streaming agreement with Royal Gold, receiving a $1 billion upfront cash payment. The agreement allows the company to maintain exposure to copper production at Kansanshi while enhancing liquidity. Senior notes transactions were also executed to extend debt maturity to 2029.
