Geotab has acquired Verizon Connect’s telematics business in several countries, adding over 400 employees to its team. The deal focuses on sales and commercial operations, aiming to strengthen Geotab’s presence in key international markets, particularly for small and mid-sized fleets under the leadership of Matthew Kassel.
The acquisition will not alter Verizon Connect’s product or engineering functions, remaining separate. Geotab plans to extend its channel and support capabilities, providing customers with access to its telematics platform, analytics, and AI-driven services. The integration will allow for continued telematics services during the transition for customers in affected countries.
Geotab’s acquisition of Verizon Connect’s commercial operations in Europe and Australia is seen as a significant move in the connected vehicle industry. The deal aligns with Geotab’s strategy to expand its commercial reach and deliver localized sales and support for fleets. This strategic acquisition is expected to enhance Geotab’s position in key international markets.
