Global copper mine output is set to increase by 2.1% in 2025 to 23.4 million tonnes, with Zambia leading growth at 19.2%. Mongolia’s Oyu Tolgoi mine and Peru’s Las Bambas complex will also contribute. The DRC and Chile will see expansions, while Australia and Indonesia face declines due to various challenges. Canada’s Teck Resources will benefit from improved grades.

In Indonesia, output at PT Freeport Indonesia’s Grasberg Block Cave mine will decline due to lower ore grades and operational issues.
