Futures for gold fell 3.2% to $4,002.90 a troy ounce, with spot gold down 0.3% to $4,114.13 an ounce. Despite last week’s surge, analysts predict a short-term pullback if U.S.-China relations improve. Chief market analyst Joshua Mahony notes gold is still up over 50% this year, with support from expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut this week.
