Kodal Minerals has started exporting lithium spodumene concentrate from its Bougouni project in Mali, with the first truckloads being prepared for shipment to the port of San Pedro in Côte d’Ivoire. The company plans to transport 30,000 tonnes of concentrate to Hainan, aiming to maintain a consistent supply for future shipments.

CEO Bernard Aylward stated that the successful construction of the Dense Media Separation plant allows for the consistent exporting of spodumene concentrate from Bougouni. The first shipment will be 30,000t, with revenue expected upon completion of loading in the San Pedro port as per the off-take agreement.

The Bougouni lithium project, located south of Bamako in Mali, covers 350km² and recently produced its first lithium oxide spodumene concentrate. Operated by Les Mines de Lithium de Bougouni, a subsidiary of Kodal Mining UK, the project’s stage two will include a flotation plant with an expected output of 230,000t of Li₂O annually.
