Kroger Co. issued a voluntary recall of Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad and Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The products were sold in deli departments across 1,860 Kroger Family of Stores in multiple states. Listeria can cause severe infections, especially in vulnerable populations. No illnesses have been reported. Affected salads were sold between August and October. Kroger has removed the products, activated a recall notification system, and urges customers to return the salads for a refund or replacement.
