AI is transitioning from the digital realm to the physical world, with machines becoming collaborators in factory floors and operating rooms. NVIDIA has unveiled the IGX Thor platform, offering real-time physical AI at the edge with 8x the performance of its predecessor, IGX Orin. Early adopters include leaders in industrial, robotic, medical, and healthcare sectors. Hitachi Rail is using IGX Thor for advanced predictive maintenance and autonomous inspection systems on rail networks, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability. Maven Robotics plans to integrate IGX Thor into its next-gen industrial robots for embodied-AI performance and real-time decision-making at scale. Diligent Robotics, Endoquest Robotics, and CMR Surgical are adopting IGX Thor for advanced AI capabilities in medical and surgical robotics systems, focusing on real-time analysis and adaptive decision-making. NVIDIA’s partner ecosystem includes equipment manufacturers providing IGX Thor-powered edge servers, customized carrier boards, design services, cameras, and sensors to accelerate solution development. The NVIDIA IGX Thor platform includes production-ready systems like the IGX T5000 module and IGX T7000 board kit for diverse physical AI applications with functional safety, expected to be available in December.
