Pfizer and Astellas Pharma announced final overall survival results from the Phase 3 EMBARK study, showing that XTANDI plus leuprolide reduced the risk of death by 40.3% in men with non-metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer at high risk for metastasis. The 8-year overall survival rate was 78.9% for patients on XTANDI plus leuprolide, compared to 69.5% for those on leuprolide alone. The safety profile of XTANDI was consistent with no new safety signals identified. XTANDI is approved for multiple indications in over 80 countries, including the treatment of prostate cancer.
