US-based Playa Bowls signs master franchise deal with Eat Up Canada to expand in Canada with plans for 160 locations. Eat Up Canada founders have experience in the industry, previously developing a 50-unit Firehouse Subs portfolio. Playa Bowls CEO sees this as a major step in introducing their menu in new markets.

Playa Bowls continues domestic expansion in states like Arizona, California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, and Texas. The chain recently reached its 300th location in Atlanta and has over 350 units in the US pipeline. They aim to open more than 90 new outlets by the end of 2025, with steady growth reported.

Eat Up Canada sees Playa Bowls as a great fit for the Canadian market with their unit economics and health-conscious offerings. Playa Bowls previously signed 14 new multi-unit franchise agreements in 2024. This move is part of their broader expansion strategy.
