Rail Unit has signed a full-service leasing agreement with European Loc Pool for the EuroDual locomotive, expanding its fleet. The EuroDual is a dual-power locomotive with electric and diesel power outputs, boasting a tractive effort of 500 kilonewtons. Scheduled for service in September 2026, it will operate on all national routes throughout Germany. ELP is known for its focus on six-axle hybrid locomotives equipped with the latest European Train Control System. CEO Willem Goosen expressed pride in supporting Rail Unit’s growth with the EuroDual. ELP has been providing locomotive leasing and maintenance solutions since May 2018, placing an order for the initial ten Euro9000 locomotives from Stadler in May 2019.
