Scienture Holdings, Inc. formalized multiple commercial group purchasing organization agreements for its new drug, Arbli (losartan potassium) oral suspension. This will provide access to over 2,500 healthcare institutions in the U.S., aiming to penetrate 20% of the institutional market with their liquid hypertension medication.
Arbli is FDA-approved for hypertension, reducing stroke risk, and treating diabetic nephropathy. It is the first ready-to-use oral liquid losartan in the U.S., offering reduced dosing volume and long-term shelf life. The drug has two issued patents and represents a $256 million market with 71 million prescriptions annually.
Scienture secured a Pharmacy Benefit Manager-led Group Purchasing Organization rebate agreement recently. This advances formulary access with health plans covering over 100 million lives. The company aims to reach patients and providers in need through access to thousands of healthcare institutions.
In August, Scienture announced a registered direct offering of 3.225 million shares at $1.20 per share, raising approximately $3.9 million. The company’s stock was down 0.16% at $0.84 during premarket trading, close to its 52-week low.
Narasimhan Mani, president and co-CEO of Scienture, expressed excitement about the opportunity to reach more patients and providers with Arbli. The company is focused on making the drug accessible to those who need it most, positioning it in the healthcare market effectively.
