Indian shares opened higher on Monday as U.S.-China trade tensions eased and U.S. inflation data suggested a possible Fed rate cut. The BSE Sensex rose 0.5% to 84,661, while the Nifty surged 0.6% to 25,939.
Brigade Hotel Ventures saw a 58% increase in Q2 net profit, boosting its stock by 5%. SBI Life Insurance’s net premium income rose to Rs. 24,848 crore, leading to a 3% rally in its stock. Coforge’s Q2 net profit surged 86%, pushing its stock up by 4.1%. NCC secured a contract worth Rs. 6,828.94 crore, causing a 1.6% increase in its stock price. GPT Infraprojects climbed 11% after bagging a contract worth Rs. 195 crore from Ivory Coast.
However, Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Q2 standalone net profit declined by 2.3%, leading to a 1% fall in its stock. Dr Reddy’s Laboratories’ Q2 profit missed estimates, causing its stock to drop by 0.6%.
