Entrepreneur Jazzmonae Lockett of Zion’s Crown hair care sought guidance on sustaining momentum as her business grows. Inspired by “Shark Tank,” Rashawnda Wright created Cap Creations to help people with diverse hair wear caps comfortably. The summit provided her a chance to connect with the Sharks and gift Tabitha Brown one of her patented inserts.

The summit kicked off with a high-energy podcast featuring OG Shark Robert Herjavec. Rashad Bilal emphasized the importance of investing in oneself during uncertain times. The Swim With Your Pack panel highlighted the critical role community plays in a business’s strategic vision.

Jay Bailey of the Russell Innovation Center challenged the idea of categorizing Black business owners as a “minority.” He emphasized the global diaspora and the need to account for changing demographics in business over the next decade. Rashuan Williams led a power session on startup essentials and shared his FITT Test for investing.

Three small businesses pitched to Sharks for investments at The Final Pitch, each receiving a $35,000 check from Clover to grow their businesses. Daymond John expressed hope for future live tapings of “Shark Tank” at events to showcase entrepreneurs putting their dreams on the line.
