The South Korea stock market has seen gains over the past three sessions, with the KOSPI index now above 2,970 points. However, investors may take profits on Thursday amid uncertainty related to the Iran/Israel conflict. The European and U.S. markets were mixed, setting the tone for Asian markets.

On Wednesday, the KOSPI closed higher, led by the chemicals and industrials sectors. The index rose by 0.74 percent to finish at 2,972.19, with notable movements in stocks like Naver, SK Innovation, and Hyundai Mobis.

Wall Street closed with little change after the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. Economic data showed a slight decrease in jobless claims and a drop in new residential construction in the U.S. Oil prices rose due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
