Spinneys and Filipino business group Ayala have formed a joint venture to launch supermarkets in the Philippines. Ayala will hold 60% stake, while Spinneys retains 40%. Spinneys CEO, Sunil Kumar, stated that the move into Southeast Asia marks an exciting new chapter for the company. Ayala Corporation’s president and CEO, Cezar Consing, expressed honor in being Spinneys’ first partner outside of the Gulf Cooperation Council. This investment aims to catalyze trade between the Philippines and the GCC. Ayala has a history of successful collaborations, including partnerships with Kmart Australia and BYD.
