Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler and Jeep, plans to invest $13 billion in U.S. manufacturing over four years. This will add 5,000 jobs and increase domestic production by 50%. The move comes as President Trump aims to boost U.S. manufacturing through tariffs. Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO, aims to grow the U.S. market. The company’s U.S. sales peaked in 2018 at over 2.2 million vehicles. Sales declined by 42% since then. New investments will bring new vehicles to Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio plants by 2029. This includes a midsize truck for a plant in Toledo, Ohio, and two new Jeep vehicles for a facility in Belvidere, Illinois. The company is focusing on long-term growth and making strategic investments.
