Jeep is revamping its top-tier Grand Wagoneer lineup for the 2026 model year to reach a wider audience. Changes include updated styling, a new extended-range powertrain, and a simplified model lineup, all under the Grand Wagoneer name. The starting price will be under $65,000, aiming to compete with rivals.

The previous Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models, launched in 2021, fell short of expectations with production issues and confusing trim levels. Prices could exceed $111,000, leading to consumer and dealer confusion. Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf acknowledges the missteps and aims to rectify them with the 2026 Grand Wagoneer.

Jeep, owned by Stellantis, plans to introduce the first SUV with plug-in technology called a range-extender. The Grand Wagoneer will have an electric onboard generator powered by a V6 engine, offering zero-emissions driving until the battery depletes. This move follows a turnaround plan for Stellantis brands, with Jeep aiming to be a frontrunner in the EREV market.

As one of Stellantis’ key brands, Jeep’s Grand Wagoneer revamp marks a crucial step in the company’s product strategy. The SUV brand is regaining sales momentum in the U.S. after a decline, with the 2026 Grand Wagoneer being a pivotal part of its growth plan. Jeep aims to continue its historical success while adapting to changing market demands.
