On Thursday, Wall Street saw investors buying bonds and selling stocks, with the market’s fear gauge spiking again and regional bank stocks slipping. The S&P 500 was down 0.8%, the Dow dropped 311 points (0.7%), and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.7%.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury note decreased to 3.986%, marking its lowest 3 p.m. ET closing level since Oct. 4, 2024, according to Dow Jones Market Data. It’s important to note that a bond’s yield moves inversely to its price.
