Tesla has launched sales of its Cybertruck in Qatar, expanding its international presence after entering Saudi Arabia earlier this year. The move comes as Tesla seeks to boost global sales amid slowing demand in the U.S. and Chinese markets.

In April, Tesla entered Saudi Arabia with the Cybertruck and Model Y, aiming to support regional sales with online ordering, pop-up showrooms, Supercharger stations, and service centers. The move marked a reconciliation after a previous rift with the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund.

Qatar now joins the UAE and Saudi Arabia as part of Tesla’s first wave of Cybertruck sales outside North America. While Tesla doesn’t disclose regional sales figures for the Cybertruck, a U.S. recall filing revealed over 46,000 Cybertrucks were built between November 2023 and early this year.

Tesla faces competition in the region from Chinese automakers BYD and Zeekr, as well as U.S. rival Lucid, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Despite record deliveries in the third quarter, analysts anticipate a decline in the fourth quarter as the $7,500 tax credit for EV purchases expires on September 30.
