The Nasdaq Composite saw a sharp decline on Wednesday, with tech and consumer discretionary stocks taking a hit. The index was down 0.6%, while the S&P 500 dropped 0.3% and the Dow fell 0.2% or 100 points.

Although the S&P 500 experienced a decline, market breadth was positive with around 300 S&P 500 stocks seeing gains on the day.
