In afternoon trading, Energy stocks are the worst performing sector with a 0.8% loss. Valero Energy Corp (VLO) and Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) are lagging, down 3.2% and 2.7% respectively. The Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) is down 0.6% for the day and up 2.23% year-to-date. Builders FirstSource Inc. (BLDR) and Mohawk Industries, Inc. (MHK) are notable losers in the Materials sector, down 3.1% and 2.0%. The S&P 500 components show five sectors up, three down, with Utilities leading at +1.6% and Energy at -0.8%.
