Zerohash, the rumored infrastructure firm behind OnePay’s crypto initiatives, recently raised $104 million, valuing the company at $1 billion. OnePay’s mobile banking app, launched in 2020, has surged in popularity, ranking in the top 5 finance apps in Apple and Google Play stores. Walmart was previously linked to the crypto space and stablecoin plans.
A suspected crypto scammer linked to $580 million in stolen funds was arrested in Bangkok. Consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren denounced reports of Walmart’s stablecoin plans. Representatives for OnePay and Walmart have not responded to requests for comment.
