Shares of WBD surged almost 11% on Tuesday and continued to rise by 1% in morning trading Wednesday. The company plans to separate into two entities: a streaming and studios business and a global networks business. Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, which owns CNBC, is set to spin off Versant as its new parent company.
