World Liberty Financial (WLF) plans to launch a crypto debit card to facilitate everyday crypto spending, CEO Zach Witkoff announced at Token 2049. The organization is also working on tokenizing real-world assets like real estate and oil. WLF made its $WLFI token available to the public recently.
Witkoff, son of Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, disclosed the upcoming pilot program for the debit card at Token 2049 in Singapore. The CEO emphasized the potential to tokenize assets like Trump Tower Dubai and provide access to investing in Class A real estate. WLF aims to expand its offerings despite criticism.
In a move to diversify its offerings, WLF introduced a dollar-pegged stablecoin in March 2025. The organization also secured a $2 billion investment from Abu Dhabi-based firm MGX for crypto exchange Binance. The deal has raised concerns about ethics violations, with Senators Warren and Merkley expressing unease.
Critics have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest in WLF’s partnership with MGX and its ambitions to expand its stablecoin usage. Despite the backlash, the organization remains committed to its tokenization and crypto payment initiatives. WLF continues to forge ahead with its expansion plans and new offerings.
