World Liberty Financial (WLFI) sold part of its token holdings to Hut 8, transferring tokens directly from its treasury. The deal involved around 100 million WLFI tokens sold at $0.25 each, valuing the transaction at $25 million, a 25% premium. Analysts see this as a strong endorsement of WLFI’s fundamentals.
Hut 8’s purchase reinforces trust in WLFI’s strategy and value proposition. WLFI gains institutional validation and liquidity strength by having a publicly listed miner as a holder. Hut 8 plans to hold the tokens as a long-term reserve asset, dispelling fears of short-term market selling.
WLFI and Hut 8 have a broader partnership to expand institutional participation in the WLFI ecosystem. Hut 8 is collaborating with Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump on a US-based Bitcoin mining venture called American Bitcoin. This acquisition is part of institutional efforts to strengthen WLFI’s treasury reserve adoption.
ALT 5 Sigma announced plans to raise $1.5 billion to bolster WLFI’s corporate treasury in August. These deals align with WLFI’s goal of expanding token utility. WLFI plans to tokenize real estate and commodities, and launch a debit card and retail payments app integrated with Apple Pay to broaden its offerings.
