IBM and AMD collaborate with San Francisco-based AI company, Zyphra, to provide advanced AI infrastructure. IBM to host large cluster of AMD Instinct GPUs on IBM Cloud for Zyphra’s training of multimodal foundation models. Zyphra aims to build open-science superintelligence lab, recently valued at $1 billion.
Collaboration leverages IBM’s cloud infrastructure and AMD’s GPU and networking accelerators for rapid innovation. Initial deployment in September, further expansion planned for 2026. Zyphra to develop Maia, a general-purpose superagent to enhance productivity for enterprise knowledge workers.
