Around 3,000 Amazon warehouse employees in Germany went on strike on Black Friday to push for a collective wage agreement. The Verdi union organized the strikes at major fulfillment centers, arguing for pay standards in line with the retail industry nationwide.
Amazon stated that the strike would have minimal impact, as they have hired 12,000 seasonal workers to handle holiday orders. The company currently employs around 40,000 logistics workers in Germany. This strike coincided with other European retailers facing labor protests during the busy shopping season.
AMZN is currently trading at $231.46, up 1% on the NasdaqGS. The company is facing pressure from warehouse workers in Germany seeking fair wages.
