The Australian stock market is slightly higher on Friday, staying above the 8,600 level. Gold miners and technology stocks are up, offsetting weakness in iron ore miners and financial stocks. The S&P/ASX 200 Index is up 0.09 percent to 8,625.00. Among major miners, BHP Group is down 0.2 percent, while Mineral Resources is up over 2 percent. Tech stocks like Afterpay and WiseTech Global are also gaining. Big four banks are down, with ANZ Banking losing almost 1 percent. Gold miners are mostly higher. Star Entertainment Group shares are up almost 5 percent, while Corporate Travel Management remains suspended due to an accounting scandal.
