Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. presented new sotagliflozin clinical data at the AHA Annual Scientific Sessions 2025, showing benefits for heart failure patients with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and without diabetes. The study, led by Dr. Juan J Badimon, included 88 participants and found significant improvements in left ventricular mass, diastolic function, and functional capacity with sotagliflozin treatment. This is the first study to demonstrate these benefits in patients with HFpEF without diabetes. Nearly 6.7 million Americans have heart failure, with more than half having preserved ejection fraction, leading to frequent hospitalizations and a 25% one-year risk of death.
