Columbia Sportswear appoints Joseph P. Boyle and Peter J. Bragdon as co-presidents. Boyle will oversee the flagship Columbia brand, while Bragdon will handle other brands and international business. Bragdon will also continue oversight of certain functions. Columbia reported a 40% decrease in operating income and a 1% dip in net sales for the third quarter.

Tim Boyle, chairman and CEO, highlighted international sales growth but noted a 4% decline in U.S. sales. The company plans to focus on its Accelerate Growth Strategy to attract younger consumers. Columbia introduced the ‘Engineered for Whatever’ brand platform to revitalize the brand’s image. Fourth-quarter projections indicate a 5-8% decline in net sales and reduced earnings per share.
