In early trading, Amgen leads the Dow Jones with a 1.6% increase, boasting a 21.1% gain year to date. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs Group is the worst performer, down 3.7% today but up 1.8% for the year.

Other movers include MMM, down 3.4%, and Procter & Gamble, up 1.5%.
