Equinor has finalized the sale of its 40% stake in Brazil’s Peregrino field to PRIO for $2.33bn, making PRIO the full operator. Equinor received $1.55bn at closing after adjustments. Equinor will remain a non-operated partner until the remaining 20% is sold. The field, located in the Campos Basin, has produced around 300 million barrels since 2011. Equinor’s share of production in the field was approximately 55,000 barrels per day in the first quarter of 2025. Equinor continues its operations in Brazil with projects like Bacalhau and Raia gas project.
