JetBlue Airways plans to expand its European flights with daily service from Boston to Barcelona starting April 16 and Milan on May 11. The move aims to attract higher-spending vacationers. U.S. carriers, including JetBlue’s partner United Airlines, are adding international routes to boost profits. JetBlue is optimizing its route network to cut losses and offer more premium Mint business class seats. The airline’s first trans-Atlantic lounge at JFK Airport will cater to Mint customers. JetBlue will use Airbus A321LR jets for Barcelona and Milan flights, offering more efficiency with fewer passengers than twin-aisle jets. American Airlines plans to introduce its Airbus A321XLR for flights to Edinburgh.
