Meta plans to invest over $600bn in AI technology, data centers, and infrastructure in the US by 2028. The company aims to develop AI systems and expand operational capacity. They currently generate $20bn for domestic subcontractors and have added 15GW of energy capacity to US power grids.
Meta collaborates with utilities to address energy needs and invests in grid infrastructure upgrades. They also focus on water management, implementing designs to reduce water use and aiming for a water-positive footprint by 2030. Additionally, Meta invests in community infrastructure like roads and water systems at data center locations.
In a joint venture with Blue Owl Capital, Meta is managing the Hyperion data center campus in Louisiana. They reported a decline in net income to $2.7bn in Q3 2025, but revenue surged 26% to $51.2bn. As demand for AI rises, Meta plans to further scale its data center infrastructure in the US.
