Microsoft will ship over 60,000 Nvidia AI chips to the UAE under a US Commerce Department-approved agreement. The licenses, granted in September, allow the export of Nvidia’s powerful GB300 Grace Blackwell processors for data centers in the UAE, despite Trump’s previous statements on AI chip exports.

As part of a $15.2 billion investment in AI and technology infrastructure in the UAE, Microsoft already has 21,000 Nvidia GPUs in operation. The new chips will support AI models from developers like OpenAI and Anthropic, enhancing the region’s access to cutting-edge computing resources and aligning with the UAE’s $1.4 trillion investment in U.S. energy and AI projects.
