Mitsui & Co., Ltd. reported a higher first-half profit of 423.73 billion yen, up 2.9% from the previous year, with earnings per share at 147.29 yen. Despite weak revenues, profit before income taxes grew by 2.3% to 546.64 billion yen. The company raised its profit outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, now expecting profit of 820 billion yen. Mitsui also announced a new share repurchase program of up to 200 billion yen and an increased full-year dividend of 115 yen per share. Shares were up 4.1% in Japan, trading at 3,911.00 yen.
