In early trading, Applied Materials leads as the best performer in the Nasdaq 100, up 2.3% with a year-to-date gain of 45.2%. On the flip side, Advanced Micro Devices is the worst performer, down 8.2% today but up 63.4% year-to-date.

Other movers include NVIDIA, down 5.4%, and Alphabet, up 2.3%.
